Latest Updates & News

6th January 2024

Happy new year to all readers.  Warm thanks are due to The UNITED STATES NAVAL INSTITUTE for picking up my BATTLESHIP SCHARNHORST painting to illustrate their recent article about The Battle of North Cape, published in the December 2023 issue of NAVAL HISTORY magazine, which is also available online.

23rd August 2023

The Limited Edition for BATTLESHIP SCHARNHORST is now live.  This had been delayed by circumstances, namely having re-commissioned as an officer in the RN; but time ashore has thankfully permitted the necessary work to offer it.  Please see via website store.

3rd September 2022

Another update - another commissioned piece for another former skipper!  This time not of a warship but rather a commercial offshore support vessel.  MAERSK MASTER is now in the gallery and I can also say that this this work now being complete - I am moving on with the formerly queued list of works pertaining to famous surface actions of the First and Second World Wars..  and maybe also some lesser known ones.   These works are principally now smaller format ones thereby hopefully more updates with more new works will come to light in coming months - although it is getting a tad darker here now..

Uploaded the 'second half' of " "PASS IN REVIEW" BB-61 USS IOWA".  The work was commissioned as a gift for a former commanding officer, whom didn't actually know he was receiving it.  Hence the delay in showing the full piece given the entirely odd combination of ships in the picture which are specific to the career of the recipient - i.e.: for in the event of the very off chance this gave the game away.  Not a problem I have ever had before.

4th April 2022

Added preview for newly-commissioned painting depicting BB-61 USS IOWA circa late 1980's to gallery (the same image also appeared via Instagram).  Website store updated with revisions to regional shipping costs.   New services for delivery within Great Britain as well as international shipping to Europe etc have now been added.

31st January 2022

We've moved country and are now based in the United Kingdom.  We are currently working through setting up with a new UK-based publisher; and are also in the process of working through updates to shipping policies.

21st November 2021

We will be relocating back to the Great Britain either next month or early January 2022 pending some 'minor' logistics plans falling into place.   I will be able to fulfil prints orders from New Zealand until about mid December 2021 - beyond which point everything will be in transit to GB and some handling delays may ensue as I set things up anew from our new home.

27th September 2021

Lockdown measures are now somewhat eased and more normal business conditions have resumed.  I am able to resupply again and will be getting underway with the orders which I received during lockdown.  Buyers affected by this interruption will likely receive shipping notifications this week or next.

18th August 2021

Our luck seems to have run out and we are sadly back in full lockdown.  It is with deep regret that I need to advise of major disruption to handling times and dispatch for limited edition prints.   As soon as I can update with a date of expected dispatch for all orders and pre-orders I will do so.   Thank you for your patience and understanding and above all, keep safe.

Prominent naval historian and YouTuber Drachinifel has very kindly reviewed my latest studio original, and its exclusive limited edition of print copies.  Drachinifel was not lying when he said I was a subscriber to his channel; actually, I watched his channel all the while actually painting this piece.  If you are unfamiliar with his channel (which is unlikely if you are here) his videos are highly-recommended.  Specifically, his video which references my work can be found here.   Thanks Alex.

Site under construction.  Please bear with.  I am still in the process of ironing out the bugs.

It has been a tremendous honour to have assisted the ROYAL AUSTRALIAN NAVY with telling the story of the four Australians who were tragically lost in HMS HOOD on 24th May 1941.   Ian Startup, John Shannon, George Hall and David Hall are remembered in the story "The Yachtsmen and the Mighty Hood", courtesy of the Seapower Centre, RAN.  Illustrations completely aside the story is well worth a read.  The article can be found here.
